CDO is a local civil society organization established on July 9, 2020, and registered under Ethiopia's CSO Proclamation 1113/2019 (Registration Number: 4970). Authorized to operate nationwide, CDO strives to create a positive impact across Ethiopia, focusing on empowering vulnerable communities and advocating for social justice.
Founded by a visionary woman leader, CDO's mission is deeply rooted in the founder's personal experience of facing institutionalized discrimination and inequality. Despite these challenges, the founder's resilience and commitment to justice led to the creation of CDO.
CDO integrates a rights-based framework, focusing on gender equality, environmental sustainability, and citizen-state engagement, ensuring that every community member has equal access to opportunities and resources.
